Men’s Volleyball Wins First Match in Program History

Cincinnati, Ohio – Marymount University's men's volleyball team earned its first victory in program history with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) victory over Fontbonne to close out the Continental Volleyball Conference Crossover on Sunday afternoon.  The Saints improve to 1-5 on the season heading into CVC East competition.

Defensively Ernsberger collected nine digs and three blocks, both match-highs.

Fontbonne (0-4) had no answer for the Saints duo as the Blue and White put together their most impressive set of the year to open the match.  Marymount hit a sizzling .552 in the frame with 19 of their 25 points coming off of kills.

The Saints kept offense came back to earth a bit in the second set but still proved to be formidable.  Marymount hit .385 in the set and committed just three hitting errors.

In the fourth, the Saints held the Griffins to a paltry .125 clip in the set en route to their first win in program history.

Aaron Graue led the Griffins with 17 kills.

Marymount returns to action on Friday as it opens CVC East Division play on the road at Thiel.
