Women’s Lacrosse Returns to Winning Ways
Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University's women's lacrosse team returned to its winning ways with a 15-11 victory over Frostburg State in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday night. The Saints improve to 6-4 on the season and even their league record to 2-2.
Taylor Johnson and Megan McGuirk led the Saints with four goals each while Stephanie Flood added three for a hat-trick. Molly Maher, Lindsay Bullock, Stephanie Keane and Chelsea Ritter all scored lone goals for the Blue and White as well.
Flood added four assists in the win with McGuirk, Rachel Duff and Jacki Belker each chipping in another.
Ritter and Flood each had five draw controls while Cecila Pasquale and Kelly Smigen both caused a pair of turnovers.
In goal, Kiki Niebuhr (6-4) hauled in 12 saves between the pipes for Marymount.
Megan White and Katelyn Kesecker both had three goals to lead Frostburg State (5-5, 1-2 CAC).
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to face former CAC foe Goucher in non-conference play.
