York, Pa. – Marymount University's women's lacrosse team earned a program record four selections to the 2013 All-Capital Athletic Conference teams, as announced by the league office on Friday. Senior Stephanie Flood and sophomore Molly Maher garnered first team honors while junior Kiki Niebuhr and sophomore Taylor Johnson claimed second team recognition.
Flood becomes the first Marymount player to garner three All-CAC selections in a career. She was named second team as a freshman in 2010 and as a junior in 2012. Flood picked up first team honors as a senior after scoring 17 goals to go with 12 assists for 29 points. She added 45 draw controls, sixth best in the CAC, 26 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
Maher improved her second team standing as a freshman last season to first team recognition this year. She scored 19 goals to go with 9 assists for 28 points. Maher was third in the CAC with 33 caused turnovers, fourth with 47 ground balls and fifth with 48 draw controls.
Niebuhr earned her first CAC postseason honor after a strong season between the pipes. She won all seven games on the year for the Saints and was second in the league with 156 saves. Niebuhr's 47.7 save percentage was fourth best in the CAC and she was tabbed CAC Defensive Player of the Week once this season.
Johnson also collected her first All-CAC nod after leading the Saints in scoring on the year. She scored 39 goals, sixth most in the league, to go with three assists for 42 points. Johnson notched eight hat-tricks on the year including one game with four goals and two games with five.
Marymount went 7-8 overall in 2013 and earned a bid to the CAC Tournament. The Saints return 24 letterwinners next season including Johnson, Maher and Niebuhr.
