Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Smith
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's lacrosse team defeated visiting Smith College 21-4 in a rain-soaked non-conference game on Wednesday. The Saints improve to 4-2 on the season with the win.
Megan McGuirk posted a career-high nine points in the win, scoring four goals to go with a game-high five assists. Stephanie Keane led the Saints with five goals while Natalie Tinkham and Chelsea Ritter both added three for hat-tricks.
Along with McGuirks five assists, Maher had three, Belker chipped in two and Keane, Ritter and Tinkham all had one.
Trading goals to open the game, Marymount put things away early courtesy of 10 unanswered goals in the opening half to lead 11-1. The Pioneers (0-6) would manage just two goals the rest of the frame and only one in the second half.
Defensively, Maher was credited with three caused turnovers and collected a game-high seven ground balls. Powell led the Blue and White with eight draw controls.
Olivia Timmins led Smith with three goals.
