Women’s Lacrosse Falls to #10 York (Pa.)
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's lacrosse team dropped a rain-soaked 8-3 decision to visiting 10th-ranked York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference Action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fall to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Defensively, Tylar Abrams collected 18 saves between the pipes. Maher was credited with three caused turnovers and Ritter led MU with three draw controls. Abrams and Maher both scooped up five ground balls for the Saints in the loss.
York (7-3, 2-1 CAC) opened the game with a pair of goals in the first five minutes before the Maher scored her first at the 14:37 mark. The Spartans followed suit with back-to-back scores in less than a minute to lead 4-1 while Ritter hit her shot home with seven minutes to play in the first. York would score once more in the frame to take a 5-2 lead going into halftime.
Coming out of the break, The Spartans once again converted the first two goals of the stanza. Maher scored her second goal of the game with 13:16 remaining but a lone goal from YCP with five minutes remaining was the only score the rest of the way.
Megan Stine led York with four goals and two assists.
