Two Saints Earn Atlantic East Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Marymount baseball and softball programs grabbed a pair of Atlantic East weekly awards on Monday after both teams picked up strong conference wins.

Samantha Cinotti picked up the player of the week accolade for softball, the first such award in the young program's history. The freshman went 10-of-15 at the plate this week, knocking three doubles and two triples. Collecting a total of six RBI, Cinotti helped her team slug their way to a 5-1 record over the week, notching a five-game win streak in the process.

For the Marymount baseball team, Alex Lemery continued his strong season, helping the Saints pick up their first conference win of the season over Marywood by a final tally of 11-9.

The senior knocked his fifth home run of the season in the contest en route to a 2-for-3 day with a total of five RBI. Lemery is now hitting at a .423 clip on the season with 34 RBI.

This is the third Atlantic East Player of the Week honor for the Fairfax native.

The softball team hits the field again on Wednesday, Apr. 20, traveling to Washington (Md.) for a non-conference doubleheader. The baseball team will be back on the diamond on Friday, Apr. 22 at Gwynedd-Mercy for a single conference matchup.
