White and Torres Named Saints of the Week

ARLINGTON, Va. -- After guiding their respective teams to their first wins of the season last week, Chloe White of the Marymount University women's soccer team, and Leonardo Torres of the men's soccer team, have been named as the Saints of the week.

White and the women's soccer team went 1-1 last week and picked up their first win of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Gallaudet University. Against the Bison, White netted her first career goal, which also went down as the game-winner. The sophomore set the tone for the Saints in that contest, as her goal was scored just 18 seconds into the game.

Torres led the Saints to their first win of the season last week with a 2-0 road victory over McDaniel College. The Manassas, Virginia, native put the contest to bed with a goal in the second half that sealed the win. Against Stevenson, Torres extended his season-opening point streak to four games after he once again found the back of the net. As a result, he was named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

White and the women's soccer team play their next game on the road on Wednesday, September 15, against Goucher College at 7:00 p.m. Torres and the men's soccer team return to the field this afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. tilt against the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg.
