ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Jules Lemmon, of the cross-country team, and Natalie Garbalosa, of the women's volleyball team, have been named the Saints of the Week.
Lemmon and Garbalosa both earned the first Atlantic East Conference weekly honors of their respective careers on Monday afternoon.
Lemmon was named Runner of the Week after she led MU to a fifth-place finish at the Hornet Harrier Invitational at Shenandoah University. The sophomore finished the 5K race in 21:45.6, which was good for 17th overall.
Garbalosa was stellar defensively for the Saints last week. The junior tallied 74 digs across three matches and averaged 6.72 digs per set. She posted 33 digs against Gettysburg College and added 16 in a 3-0 win over St. Mary's College of Maryland. The Boca Raton, Florida, native closed out the week with 25 digs against Salisbury University.
Lemmon and the women's cross-country return to action on Saturday, October 2, at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Salisbury. Garbalosa and the women's volleyball team hit the court on Saturday for a pair of matches at Stevenson University at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
