LANCASTER, Pa. - The Saints earned four total Atlantic East weekly players of the week awards in their respective sports on Tuesday, continuing the strong trend of Marymount presence in the conference.
Hunter Gillis earned the women's golf player of the week after her strong performance at the Dickinson Invitational this past Sunday. In the one-round tournament, the junior finished in a tie for first with an overall score of 79, good for +7 over par. This is Gillis' second athlete of the week award in the AEC.
Freshman Michael Miller earned his second player of the week award, his third over the course of the season, after another dominant outing against Marywood. Winning the #1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, Miller also dominated in the duos with teammate Dorian Guiot, sweeping the match 8-0.
The men's track and field program swept the AEC weekly awards. Ryan Brooks was named the track athlete of the week after another impressive outing at the Eastern Shore Challenge. Brooks won both the 110m and 400m hurdles, notching a time of 15.99 in the 110m and a 56.08 in the 400m, respectively.
The athletes' performances will work well as momentum builders heading into conference competition in the coming weeks.
