Dunn Announced as NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Caitlyn Dunn of the Marymount women's lacrosse team has been named as a nominee for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, announced by the NCAA in a release.

Per the release from the NCAA: "Established in 1991, the award recognizes female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in their community, in athletics, and in academics throughout their college careers."

Dunn, a four-year starter for the Saints, has cultivated a significant playing career for Marymount University, both on and off of the field. In 2022, she garnered Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors, as well as All-Atlantic East First Team. At the completion of the season, she was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's (IWLCA) Senior All-Star roster as a defender. She was also named First Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Apart from her accolades earned on the field, the Salisbury, Md. native remained an exceptional student in the classroom. She was a three-time member of the Atlantic East All-Academic Team, while also becoming a member of the VaSID Academic All-State Team at the completion of the 2021 season.

In the community, Dunn helps lead the charge of the efforts from the Saints women's lacrosse program, efforts that earned them the IWLCA Team Community Awareness Award just this past season. More information on the award can be found here

The winner of the award will be announced at the NCAA convention in January 2023, more information on the award, as well as all other nominees, can be found here.
