Fabre was crowned Player of the Week while Lewis was tabbed Pitcher of the Week after their roles in the series sweep of the Cougars. The awards marked the first weekly honor of their respective careers for both Fabre and Lewis.
Fabre made his debut for the Saints against Averett and did not disappoint with a slash line of .667/.750/.833. The junior tallied four hits, four RBI, two walks, one stolen base, and one run. In game one, a 9-2 win, Fabre went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and one walk. He followed that up with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate in game two. He posted another pair of RBI along with one walk and one stolen base.
Lewis received recognition from the conference office after he earned his first win of the season on the mound. The sophomore allowed no runs and just two hits in four innings of work. The righty fanned a career-high six batters en route to the victory.
Fabre, Lewis, and the Saints return home for the next tilt on Wednesday, March 2, when they host Randolph-Macon College at 1:00 p.m.
