WASHINGTON D.C. – Marymount University baseball tallied a total of 19 runs, 18 RBI, 16 hits, and seven walks in their nine inning game against Lesley University, which resulted in a 19-5 decision.
The Saints stepped out of the dug out on a roll after holding the Lynx runless in the top of the first. The Blue and White registered 10 runs in the first inning alone. Ryo Fabre and Ryan Lee each tallied a single, Jimmy Baker and Bryce Smith each a double, while Lee and Jordan Dickson both homered. The Saints didn't let up, and completed three innings with three runs each.
Sophomore, Jimmy Baker set a career high five RBI after his double in the first inning and a single in the sixth inning. Alex Lemery added four RBI and Dickson and Lee each added three. Ryan Maylie and Dickson led the game in hits and each tied a career high with three.
On the mound for the Saints, Stephen Gerade pitched the first two innings, which earned him the win. Gerade led on the mound in strikeouts with four, while the Saint's other pitchers added an additional five strikeouts. Two of which belonged to Nathan Saber. Dylan Heil, Parker Casselberry, and Clint Wheeler each added one strikeout. Paul Adragna and David Muirhead each pitched one inning of the game.
The Saints are back on the field on Sunday, March 20th when they will be at Mary Washington. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12:00pm.
