Baseball Picks Up Non-Conference Win Over Wilson

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Saints held on to a tight lead down the stretch, earning a hard-fought win against Wilson College in a midweek, non-conference matchup.

With the win, Marymount moves to 22-12 overall and builds strong momentum heading into crucial conference play ahead.

  • Ryo Fabre went 2-for-4 with an RBI on the day, adding a stolen bag.
  • Jordan Dickson knocked 1-for-3 with two RBI, while also pitching the final two innings without allowing a hit with a strikeout.
  • Jimmy Baker was 2-for-5 with an RBI in the second spot in the lineup.

How It Happened

  • After falling behind 1-0 after a solo homer from Wilson in the top of the first, the Saints did not take long to answer. In the bottom frame, Ryan Lee and Baker knocked back-to-back one out singles to give Marymount some momentum. Lee scored after taking advantage of a wild pitch and passed ball to tie up the contest. Fabre then singled up the middle to give the Saints the lead.
  • Baker knocked an RBI single in the bottom of the second to tack onto the lead, scoring Chad Singleton
  • Dickson punched his two-RBI single in the bottom of the third to continue to stretch the Saints' lead. Singleton scored the third run of the inning, taking advantage of a Wilson error.
  • The Marymount bullpen held on down the stretch as Wilson attempted a comeback, but Dickson shut down the effort with two scoreless innings of relief to close out the win.

What's Next

  • Marymount is on the road all weekend, traveling to Centenary (N.J.) for a three-game conference set between Friday and Saturday.
