Saints pick up wins in dual meet with Gallaudet and Goucher

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University men's swimming team took to the Lee Center Pool for its first home meet of the season, defeating Gallaudet University, 152-92, and Goucher College, 135-98, in a dual meet.

Senior Tedd Pham picked up two more first-place finishes for the year to pace the Saints. He began in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.51), before winning the 100-yard individual medley (56.12 seconds).

Marymount got gold medals from junior Max Klemm and seniors Mathew Landivar and Scott Bockisch, as well.

Klemm took first in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.27 seconds. He also placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.50.

Bockisch earned a win in the 50-yard butterfly in 26.53 seconds. He earned two second-place finishes, as well, in the 50-yard backstroke (29.89 seconds) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.21 seconds).

Landivar added a win in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 34.25 seconds.

The Saints also took first in the relays, with Pham, Bockisch, and seniors Nicholas DiSanti and James Powers, winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.99.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Powers, DiSanti, senior Kevin Umanzor, and freshman Dezi Vereen placed first in 2:03.24.

The Saints will return to the pool on Saturday, October 26 against St. Mary's College of Maryland at the Lee Center Pool; the meet is set for 1 p.m.
