Saints Open Up Season at SU Twilight Opener

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Marymount cross country program started off their 2022 season at the Shenandoah University Twilight Opener, with the women's side taking home a strong third-place finish. 

Team Finishes

  • The men's team placed fourth in the meet, notching an average finishing time of 21:34 in the 5k race. 
  • The women picked up the third-place finish with an average time of 13:33. 

Individual Finishes

  • In her first collegiate race, Avery Finnegan picked up a 10th-place finish out of the 36-person field. She finished with a time of 12:36.8.
  • Ariana Grant also showed well in her first collegiate outing, finishing in the 13th spot in the 3k race. Her finishing time came out to 12:45.1.
  • First-year Ziyan Qutub rounded out the top-three finishes of the Saints, coming across the finish line with a total time of 13:43.5.
  • First-year Louis Aquilina had the top finish for the Saints in the men's 5k event, notching a time of 18:14.3. 
  • Senior Cole Valente finished strong with a total time of 21:29.4.
