Women's golf starts Shenandoah Spring Fling in fifth

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Marymount University women's golf team continued its spring break competition, beginning the Shenandoah University Spring Fling on Thursday, ending round one in fifth with a 369 (+81).

Freshman Hunter Gillis led the team with an 89 (+17) to tie for eighth in the first round.

Sophomore Victoria Zarkadas finished just two strokes back, tying for 11th, with a 91 (+19) on her card.

Denise Isabel Trojillo and Janlynn Ngo, both sophomores, ended round one, just one stroke apart, tying for 18th and 21st, respectively. Trojillo carded a 94 (+22), while Ngo tallied a 95 (+23).

Sophomore Gina Carvelli finished in 33rd, with a 106 (+34), to close out the team's day.

Marymount will continue the Shenandoah Spring Fling on Friday, March 13 for day two of action.
