GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Marymount University women's lacrosse team improved to 3-1 on the season on Wednesday afternoon with a 19-10 victory over Arcadia University on the road.
The Blue and White pummelled the Knights' net with 44 shots, 32 of which found their way on target. MU's scoring antics hit a peak in the second quarter, with seven goals, which resulted in an 11-6 halftime lead.
Marymount scored the first three goals of the frame, as Taylor Young, Riley Love, and Sarah Agrillo all found the back of the net. With a four-goal lead, Peters and Agrillo netted back-to-back goals to make it a 9-4 game. Agrillo and Kaleigh Dunham tacked on another two goals to give MU a five-goal advantage.
The Saints continued the barrage to start the third quarter, as they poured in the first four goals of the frame. With a 17-9 lead, MU cruised for the remainder of the tilt, as Megan Edens and Agrillo scored the final two goals of the game for Marymount.
Love paced the Blue and White's offense with a career-high eight points on five goals and three assists. Agrillo ended the tilt just behind Love with six points (4g-2a). Peters finished with four goals, while Dunham tallied three goals and Edens scored a pair of markers.
Caitlyn Dunn and Young paced the Saints with four ground balls apiece. Sydney Clifford, Dunn, and Peters all tallied two caused turnovers. In goal, Mariel Russ registered seven saves to pick up the win.
Marymount remains on the road for its next contest on Saturday, March 5, when the Saints battle Hood College at 1:00 p.m.
