Dunham and Dunn Sweep Atlantic East Weekly Awards

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Marymount University women's lacrosse swept the weekly awards from the Atlantic East Conference on Monday afternoon as Kaleigh Dunham and Caitlyn Dunn were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Dunham and Dunn spurred on the Saints' dominant play in a pair of wins over Notre Dame University (Md.) and Alvernia University last week. The duo's efforts pushed the Blue and White's win streak to eight consecutive games while the team's overall record improved to 9-1.

Dunham picked up her second-straight Offensive Player of the Week honor after blitzing the Gators and Golden Wolves for 14 points. The junior picked up where she left off last week against Notre Dame with six goals in a 22-9 win. She added four ground balls in the effort. Against Alvernia, Dunham registered a season-high eight points on five goals and three assists. Outside of her offensive performance, the Lowell, Massachusetts native added three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

Dunn headlined the Saints' defense last week as they allowed just 19 goals across two contests. The senior pestered Notre Dame with four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Dunn and the Saints held the Gators to just 14 shots throughout the contest. The senior followed that performance up with a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball in a 21-10 win over Alvernia. Dunn led the charge on defense as the Saints held Alvernia to just 19 shots on target. For the season, the Salisbury, Maryland product leads the Atlantic East with 23 caused turnovers and a per-game average of 2.30.

Dunham, Dunn, and the Saints return to the field on Wednesday, March 30, when they host Southern Virginia University at 5:00 p.m.
