Women's Lax Falls to Conference Favorites

RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini jumped out to an early lead as the Marymount University women's lacrosse team fell 18-8 in a matchup of the top two picks in the Atlantic East poll.

Sarah Agrillo totaled three goals, four assists and a pair of ground balls for the Saints, and Riley Love added two goals, an assist and two ground balls. Caitlyn Dunn forced five turnovers and Mariel Russ made 15 saves in the cage.

Marymount scored two unanswered goals in the second quarter and three straight in the third, outscoring Cabrini 5-3 over that stretch.

The MU run started with a Love goal and a Megan Edens tally following a Cabrini card, both assisted by Agrillo. The Cavaliers had already jumped out a 7-0 lead at that point however.

Agrillo scored and then assisted Emily Peters 38 seconds later in the third quarter. She struck again soon after to cut the deficit to 10-5.

Agrillo would add an assist late in the third and a free position goal early in the fourth as she had a hand in the first seven Marymount goals of the contest. The final Saints tally came from Taylor Chepren in the fourth quarter.

Olivia Little filled the box score for the Cavaliers with eight goals, one assist, seven ground balls, eight draw controls and four caused turnovers. Shea Neary totaled four goals, two assists, five ground balls, five draw controls and four caused turnovers.

Marymount falls to 11-2, 1-1 Atlantic East after winning the last 10 contests. Cabrini (5-6, 2-0) is the only Atlantic East team to defeat the Saints since April 6, 2019.
