Saints Earn First Win in Shutout Fashion

ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's soccer earned their first victory of the young season in a 1-0 decision on Saturday, continuing the upward trend after a strong tie earlier this week. 


  • Hanna Asanovich notched the game winning goal in the contest, her second of her freshman campaign. 
  • For the second straight match, sophomore Hannah Mockenhaupt put together a strong shutout performance. 
  • Breanna Harkins had an assist in the match. 

How It Happened

  • The game started off with a bang - within the first two minutes of play, Harkins found Asanovich with the open look to give the Saints the early lead. 
  • In the 81st minute, Mockenhaupt made a strong save to keep the Mustangs scoreless to ultimately take the victory. 

Up Next

  • The Saints hit the road tomorrow, Sept. 18th, to Notre Dame (Md.) for a 1:00 PM kickoff. 
  • MU will be back at Long Bridge next Wednesday, Sept. 21, hosting hood at 4:00 PM.
