ARLINGTON, Va. - MU women's soccer put together a strong performance on both ends of the pitch to pick up their first Atlantic East victory against the Griffins of Gwynedd-Mercy.
The win puts the Saints at an overall record of 4-6-2, 1-1 in conference play.
Notable
- Ariana Adamson sank the first goal of her collegiate career in the contest.
- Laney Placido notched her sixth goal of the season in the match.
- Breanna Harkins put together another strong performance on the field, notching a goal on two shots.
- Aly Chirino had two assists.
- In goal, Hannah Mockenhaupt put together her third shutout of the season.
How It Happened
- The Saints scored first in the 23rd minute of the match, with Chirino knocking the ball to Harkins who took advantage of the opportunity to put MU up 1-0.
- Placido gave the ball to Adamson, who quickly sank a strong shot to give the Saints a quick 2-0 advantage in the first half of play.
- In the second half, Placido was able to knock in her sixth goal of the year in the 61st minute. The assist was credited to Chirino again.

- The Saints host Centenary (N.J.) for another conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 8th with kickoff set for 1:00 PM. Marymount will celebrate its senior before the start of play.
- MU will hit non-conference play next Tuesday, Oct. 11, going on the road to Widener for a 6 PM kickoff.
