Women's Track and Field Notches Strong Finishes at ECAC Championship

NEW HAVEN, Ct. - The Marymount track and field program showed well on a high stage over the course of the ECAC Division III Championship held at Southern Connecticut State University Wednesday and Thursday.

On the men's side, the Saints placed third out of 11 squads, while the women finished out at 14th over the two-day event.

Finishes

  • Deziree Conklin continued her strong year on the track, placing first in the 100m hurdle final event with a time of 15.40. She also grabbed the top-spot in the 400m hurdle final with a finishing time of 1:07.56. In the long jump, she grabbed the silver with a mark of 5.28m.
  • Samantha Healy picked up strong finishes for the Saints in the women's throws events. Her top finish was in the hammer throw event, where she placed second with a mark of 51.21m. In the shot put, she notched third with a mark of 11.57m, while finishing a strong fourth in the discus with a 29.78m mark.
  • Jada Noel also competed well in two of the women's throws events, hitting a mark of 10.50m in the shot put, good for fifth, and 27.39m mark in the discus throw.
