SCRANTON, Pa. - MU women's volleyball fell in a tightly contested matchup with The University of Scranton on Friday 3-1.
With the loss, the Saints move to 12-11 overall, still holding a 4-0 conference record.
How It Happened
- Marymount took the first set of the day by a score of 26-24. Myia Jeter and Katee Stromberg put up the dual block to finish off the set and give the Saints momentum early in the contest.
- Scranton took set two by a tally of 25-19. Early in the set, the two teams battled back and forth, but the Royals were able to take the advantage in set two.
- After dropping set three, the Saints showed fight in the fourth set staring defeat in the face. The final score of the set ended up at 29-27 in favor of Scranton, but the Saints put forth their best effort to try to force a fifth set.
- Elissa Munsterman led the attacking effort for the Saints with 17 total kills.
- Alexis Franklin had 18 assists on the day, with Sydney Sands adding 10.
What's Next
- Marymount looks to keep their perfect conference record alive on Saturday, playing Marywood at 11:00 AM.
- While still in Scranton, the Saints will play Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference match.
